Teething?
Carter has started a couple new things this week. First is the "feet up in the air" thing, I walk into his room in the morning and I see his little legs sticking straight up in the crib. Or while he plays on the ground, he holds his legs straight up. Next thing that is new is the teething, or at least we think it's teething, no proof yet.
No proof but here are the symptoms . . . Still happy but not as chipper, less hungry than normal, not sleeping very well for 2 nights straight and then there's the drool . . .
Notice the ring around his neck . . .
Yuck . . . But then he smiles and I don't seem to notice the wet neck or the slobbery hands. If he does end up with a tooth soon I will miss this gummy smile.

Missing everyone . . .
11:00 a.m. You know those days where you feel like no one is around and the baby naps for what feels like hours (it's only been 20 minutes) and you feel all alone. Not depressed just alone. Doing the laundry sounds boring, refilling the baby wipes has been done, any other project might take too long so I don't even start it. That's the day I am having. I am missing Jeff, he's at work. Missing my sister, and the way she calls Carter "Peanut" and the massive amounts of shopping we do when she visits, missing my mom and her way of taking care of me, her yummy dinners and mad cleaning. Missing Bill and his silly voice when he talks to Carter. Missing Kari, she left for Seattle to snowboard. Missing Bree and her little penguin walk, missing Bryan, Kevin and Loren and the screaming at the TV when the Seahawks are winning. (Can't wait for Sunday!!!) Missing Shannon, Jess, and Shanda and the girl talk mixed in between the screaming. Missing Shanda double and the great way she looks after our munchkin. Missing Bill and Sara in AZ and wanting to visit them. Missing Dan and Michelle and Dave and Elise and the good ol' times, eating at Red Robin before any of us were married and had responsibilities. Missing Grandma Vi . . . . Hey, she IS home. I am calling her right now, she will be my pal today.
5:59 p.m. Ok, so I am back from shopping with Grandma. We had a great time. Lunch, a little fun shopping, grocery shopping and then a cup of tea. Carter was VERY well behaved all day, just hung out while we chatted. So I feel better but I remembered some people I missed in my earlier post. Missing the Anderson's and their little cutie pie. (Mikey . . .I am referring to Dane)Needing a movie night soon! Missing the Sanderson's and wanting to see their new little guy, Tristan Thomas. Missing the Radom's and wishing I could watch Paula's belly grow in person.
I am NOT missing Jeff any more, he is home and we are ready to start a good weekend. Happy am I.

Slackers . . . and Carter is 5 months old today!
Well, the flu invaded our home this last week and Renee was out of commission for several days spending most of her time on the floor of the bathroom.
Grandma Shepherd came to the rescue and took Carter Thursday and Friday so I could rest and try not to get him sick. Luckily, he seems ok for now. Needless to say we are behind, the house was a mess, no groceries and tons of laundry to catch up on.
We rang in the new year with Bryan, Shannon, Bree and Loren and Shanda playing games until the clock struck midnight. Nothing too exciting.
Some exciting news is that Carter started eating REAL baby food this week. We tried green beans first and he seems to like them, I am going to see about carrots tonight. We definitely can tell when he is done because he spits it back out like a camel and looks at you like "go ahead, try to shove another bite in my mouth, see what happens."
I will get some video and pictures up of the latest happenings soon.

RAHHHHHHH!
Grandpa and Grandma Shepherd gave me this neat polar bear for Christmas. It growls when you tap his head . . . I learned to growl back.
Weather Man. . .
I checked the weather last night before bed and there was a slight prediction of snow overnight, I tried to tell my parents but then they just put me to sleep. . .

I'm Walking!!!!
Well, little Bree decided to start walking yesterday. I guess it was a "Happy Birthday Grandpa" present. It took a little to get her going but by the end of the night she was on her own.
Bryan and Shannon are going to have their hands full now!
This first video she went only a few steps but as she kept trying her distance got longer each time.
A little longer hike this time . . .
Finally she reached her destination. Mommy!

A great Joke from Grandma Klock
A gorgeous young redhead goes into the doctor's office and said that her body hurt wherever she touched it.
"Impossible!" says the doctor. "Show me."
The redhead took her finger, pushed on her elbow and screamed. She pushed her knee and screamed; likewise she pushed her ankle and screamed. Everywhere she touched made her scream.
The doctor said, "You're not really a redhead, are you?
"Well, no" she said, "I'm actually a blonde."
"I thought so," the doctor said. "Your finger is broken."
He He He He!
