Rock Band

Santa left us a "Band in a Box" this morning.
Not sure if he has been spying on the kids dancing to music and using brooms for guitars or if he just owns stock in advil and is trying to boost his profits...

Our lil rock stars!

Any ideas for a band name??

Carter in action.
Pretty serious business... We are shopping for an agent.

Santa Take Two

I still need to upload our first attempt to see Santa a couple weeks ago. Carter did ok, but Camden hates the man in red.  I will try to post that later.

Carter telling Santa he wants a treat and a firetruck for Christmas. "A real big one, with siwwweens that go weo weo weo weo." Carter instructed.

Cam still not so sure about Santa but it's better than the first one where he all but jumped from Santa's lap. Helped to have Carter sandwiched in between, although Carter doesn't seem so thrilled about it either.
Waiting to get into Santa's workshop.

WeeKend Pictures

Carter was a little quiet in our bedroom. I found him like this . . . .
Butt Paste on his face. He said he was putting on his lotion.

My favorite pic this weekend. Cam playing trains with Daddy. I love the bright pink binkie Camden stole from Bree several weeks ago and Jeff so content to play trains with his boys.
Carter loved it.

Love these eyes.

All you need is love . . . .

A couple nights ago I was making spaghetti and took a couple noodles out of the pot to make sure they were ready. I threw them on the counter to cool and THIS is how they landed. No joke.  A perfect heart. I had to take a picture.

Last Saturday Photo Shoot and Pepper Spray

The "Shepherd Family" annual photo shoot.
Every year we seem to grow.
In 2006 we added Jessica, and Carter
In 2007, we added Camden
Now in 2008, we added Jhett and Ellie
In 2009, we will add Kyle, and maybe another kid, who knows!
(Well, at least not from Jeff and I, I'm just saying you never know what's going to happen,
had you going though didn't I?)

All 14 of us.

Being a ham.
Being tough.

Just the 4 of us.

Being goofy.

Being cute.
Being tempted with Jelly beans.
The cousins. Last year there were only 3 in this picture.
On a side note:
I went back later the next day to the studio to get some more pictures we forgot and as I was sitting there, 2 little boys, 3 & 5 started screaming.
Not the "I don't want my picture" scream, but a holy canoly scream. I turned around to discover one of the boys had sprayed the other with PEPPER SPRAY. ! I was sitting 3 feet from them and my eyes started to burn, water. I couldn't breathe. We were coughing, short of breath. We told everyone they had to clear out of the studio and they just looked at me like I was stupid.
Until they couldn't breathe and their eyes were watering.
In a matter of minutes the whole studio was filled with this stuff and it had irritated everyone.
The 3 year old grabbed for me. His mom had a newborn and the 5 year old, looking petrified. I told her I was taking the boys to the restaurant next door to flood their eyes out.
One of the photographers grabbed the 5 year old. Both screaming, gagging, etc. We ran to the restaurant and the manager saw us coming in. He took us back to flood their eyes out in their special sink. We stripped them down, not knowing what was on their clothing still. Washed hands, faces, arms, rinsed eyes again.
It only took a couple minutes and the boys felt much better. The 3 yr old said he was hungry and so I knew he was on the mend. I promised a snack of goldfish when they got back to their car.
The police came in, made sure we were rinsing them in cold water (warm water released more and it burns longer apparently) and questioned us, wanting to know if it was the mom that had had the pepper spray. I don't know exactly where it came from. They later discovered it must have fallen out of someones purse earlier in the day on the couch and then the kids found it and accidentally sprayed it.

SO LESSON: Those who feel obligated to carry pepper spray, make sure it stays in your purse So that my "couple minute" drive to the portrait studio doesn't turn into a burning eyed, hour long, poor kids suffering, mess!
That stuff burned my eyes for the rest of the night! and I can only imaging the pain those little boys felt. Shame on you!

Snow in Vegas?

Our snow covered house.
It took 2 hours to get home from work today, normally a 30 minute drive.
So far we have about 4 or 5 inches. This is a record.

Building a snow man with Daddy.

Eating snow

A view of our street, notice the sagging palm trees.
Not rocking chair weather.

Are you Freakin' Serious!?

Carter got in trouble for throwing his milk on the floor on purpose. Camden started crying because I told Carter no, and listen for the whining cat in the background, I don 't know what her problem was. They all tend to freak out at the same time.

And  . . . yeah . . . that's my day.

Random Pictureness

A bowl of cereal before bed.

Every last drop.
I was cleaning up for meeting and Carter thought my vacuuming was in the way, so he climbed up to the couch and pulled his toys up to "save them from the sucker"
