The "Shepherd Family" annual photo shoot.
Every year we seem to grow.
In 2006 we added Jessica, and Carter
In 2007, we added Camden
Now in 2008, we added Jhett and Ellie
In 2009, we will add Kyle, and maybe another kid, who knows!
(Well, at least not from Jeff and I, I'm just saying you never know what's going to happen,
had you going though didn't I?)
All 14 of us.

Being a ham.

Being tough.

Just the 4 of us.

Being goofy.

Being cute.

Being tempted with Jelly beans.

The cousins. Last year there were only 3 in this picture.

On a side note:
I went back later the next day to the studio to get some more pictures we forgot and as I was sitting there, 2 little boys, 3 & 5 started screaming.
Not the "I don't want my picture" scream, but a holy canoly scream. I turned around to discover one of the boys had sprayed the other with PEPPER SPRAY. ! I was sitting 3 feet from them and my eyes started to burn, water. I couldn't breathe. We were coughing, short of breath. We told everyone they had to clear out of the studio and they just looked at me like I was stupid.
Until they couldn't breathe and their eyes were watering.
In a matter of minutes the whole studio was filled with this stuff and it had irritated everyone.
The 3 year old grabbed for me. His mom had a newborn and the 5 year old, looking petrified. I told her I was taking the boys to the restaurant next door to flood their eyes out.
One of the photographers grabbed the 5 year old. Both screaming, gagging, etc. We ran to the restaurant and the manager saw us coming in. He took us back to flood their eyes out in their special sink. We stripped them down, not knowing what was on their clothing still. Washed hands, faces, arms, rinsed eyes again.
It only took a couple minutes and the boys felt much better. The 3 yr old said he was hungry and so I knew he was on the mend. I promised a snack of goldfish when they got back to their car.
The police came in, made sure we were rinsing them in cold water (warm water released more and it burns longer apparently) and questioned us, wanting to know if it was the mom that had had the pepper spray. I don't know exactly where it came from. They later discovered it must have fallen out of someones purse earlier in the day on the couch and then the kids found it and accidentally sprayed it.
SO LESSON: Those who feel obligated to carry pepper spray, make sure it stays in your purse So that my "couple minute" drive to the portrait studio doesn't turn into a burning eyed, hour long, poor kids suffering, mess!
That stuff burned my eyes for the rest of the night! and I can only imaging the pain those little boys felt. Shame on you!
