Looking in the front door. The house is 2200 sq feet and a single story. Thank goodness for that. After running stairs for the last 8 years this is bliss.
The living room, taken from the kitchen.
The master bedroom. Our stuff actually fits.
I didn't stub my toe walking around the bed last night.
Looking into the master from the doorway, bathroom to the left.
Standing in the living room, looking into kitchen, laundry to the right and formal dining/den behind me.
The Vegas house, all packed up. The movers came Tuesday and packed the entire house in about 5 hours. They aren't very organized though, toilet paper thrown in with socks. Baking soda with old license plates. I think their motto is just GET IT DONE FAST.
The crates marked "Fragile" are my kiln. I thought of the scene from the Christmas Story where the father gets the crazy leg lamp. "Frageeelllaa! Must be french."
It took the crate company longer to crate the kiln than it took the mover to pack the ENTIRE house. No joke. He had to build the crates from scratch. it took him 8 hours.
50 foot moving truck and Camden saying goodbye to Vegas
Parked out front of the old house.
The only glitch we had was figuring out how to load the Expedition onto the moving van. The mover said he would just driving it up the ramps but the ramps say they only hold 5000lbs. The manual on the car says the Expedition weighs more than that. So we shot that idea down pretty quick.
Instead, we drove it to Jeff's shop and drove it through the warehouse and to the dock.
Problem was, the dock was right behind a large shelving unit and we couldn't line the truck straight up. But don't fear, Jeff always has a plan.
Move the back end of the expedition with the forklift.
Then there was the issue of the dock being too high for the moving truck, so the had to put a ton of padding under the ramp and carefully drive the truck over the padding. They cleared the sides of the truck by about 2 inches.
The next morning, Wednesday, we were up at 4:00am and on the airplane to Tucson by 7:00am.
Same moving truck, same family, different day, different state, different home.
Unloading the truck.
My favorite picture from the entire move.
Camden is reassuring Carter our truck will be ok.
The always thoughtful, Bill and Sara, brought us groceries. Thankfully Carter's grocery cart was unpacked so he could unload for us.
Carter also helped take empty boxes out to the garage.
I counted 75+ pairs of shoes that were boxed. Carter had a big job bringing them all to me in the closet.
Good thing for wagons.
